The Cal 4 had arrived today. It’s just as I expected, a really great watch. The design is so nice and is matched by the quality; both the materials and the assembly. The case finish looks like a well engineered component, the flat sapphire is nice and perfectly flush in its seated position and the hands are really attractive. The white hour and minute hands offer exceptional legibility and as you say the colour of the second hand offers an aesthetic balance to the whole watch. The second hand lines up nicely at twelve. It’s unique, few watches are thought out this well and have personality. I have to say the packaging is great too, the bespoke cut out foam block and the magnetic box lid present the watch well in a way that is appropriate.
I mentioned I like the motor sport connection and looking at this watch really reminds me of certain alloy wheels; Escort Cosworth or Renault Gordini. Really cool.
